You know how I know I'm getting old? I get excited about new coffee shops near my house.

This Peets deserves all the praise! It's brand new, with two stories, ample seating, gender-inclusive restrooms, and an elevator lift for those who can't make it up the stairs. I live right down the hill, so I've already been in a couple of times and drinks are on point. Plenty of free parking and seating outside as well. If I was still in school, this would be a perfect study spot.

This is a brand new Peet's and it is located in the Lincoln Square shopping center in Oakland. The entire neighborhood has been eagerly anticipating its grand opening. I gave it a few weeks for them to work the kinks out before visiting and decided that now was the time to try it.

The store is in the parking lot of a small mall which also includes a liquor store as well as a Safeway.  Bonus here as there is plenty of parking.  Entering,  I was struck by how pretty it was.  It's two stories with the registers and ordering area on the ground floor and a really nice upstairs area for seating.  There is an elevator for those with disabilities.  They also have gender neutral bathrooms.  Both the first and second floors have nice outdoor seating and the second floor is spacious and perfect for meetings, work, and quiet conversations.

Wifi was a bit slow in my opinion.....

Ordering my coffee was not without its problems.  While there were at least five people working there was only one person working the register, one barista struggling to fulfill the orders and three others grinding beans and doing other tasks.  The line began to grow and people were starting to become frustrated.  Kudos to the manager for getting a hand on the situation but I did have to end up waiting 10 minutes for my simple cold brew coffee.  The other issue I had was that while it was 90 degrees outside,  it was closer to 60 degrees inside.  The air conditioning was so strong that I had to step outside just to warm up.

All in all, a very nice place.  I work from home so it's nice to have a nice quiet area where I can work from time to time.  I'm glad that they opened and look forward to coming here again.  Hopefully they can pull themselves together and work out some of the minor issues I presented.

After much anticipation, this Oakland Hills location of Peet's Coffee has FINALLY opened! This area was desperately in need of a coffee shop, so I couldn't help but do a little happy dance when I first saw the "Now Open" sign.

With 2 stories and both indoor and outdoor seating on each floor, this is the largest Peet's I've seen. There is a lift for mobility-impaired access, which I find to be convenient when I bring my baby stroller. The place is very clean and modern. The service is friendly but can be a bit slow. The parking lot is shared with several other businesses, but it's easy to find a parking spot only steps away from the front door.

The coffee here meets my expectations for standard Peet's Coffee. Although Peet's isn't on my list of top favorites, it's pretty good and certainly satisfies my coffee addiction!

My neighborhood Peets that took a billion years to open was a disappointment. Simple black tie light ice took 10 minutes when hardly busy and came with full ice. When asked they all looked at each other as if I was shocking them. No offer to make it right so I pulled the ice out myself.

Want to live this place but wow. $5 for 10 mins I'll never get back and hands that need washing for fixing my own drink.

Ashkay was very nice. Barista a bit frenetic and looked like he was new to his job.

    Humph.

Oh I am so excited to see this new Peet's!  I happened upon it by accident, but glad I did!  It is SO nice inside, lots of modern seating inside and out, plus an upstairs seating area too.   I wish the Peet's in Montclair could be this big and nice!  I also love the modern artwork and signage, focused on coffee plants and the growers - makes one feel good about being here.  I will definitely be back!
